What You’ll Do
As an engineer at Alana, you’ll work on core systems that power our AI agents—from foundational infrastructure to user-facing features. You’ll operate in small, focused teams, collaborating closely with product and design to solve real customer problems.Your work might include:

💾   Designing primitives for steerable, reliable AI agents that evolve with LLMs

💾   Building contextual retrieval systems that respond with nuance and accuracy
💾   Defining how we evaluate agent quality, and how we help customers do the same
💾   Developing no-code tools for non-technical users to manage agents
💾   Creating lifelike voice interfaces that feel natural, not robotic
💾   Crafting a new kind of agent development lifecycle, one that embraces iteration, ambiguity, and learning from production.

What you bring
💾   4+ years of experience building production-grade systems or infrastructure
💾   Strong product instincts and an eye for detail
💾   Comfort working across the stack—or deep experience in one part of it
💾   A proactive mindset—you take ownership, solve problems, and drive toward outcomes
💾   Curiosity about what’s next in AI, and a desire to shape it.

Nice to Have
💾   
Experience with AI-powered or AI-augmented products
💾   Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, or modern web frameworks
💾   Comfort with developer tools, infra, or backend systems
💾   Design sensibility or frontend polish
💾   Experience leading technical projects or mentoring teammates.
